A Lawrenceville roofing company has been cited with a handful of federal safety violations at work sites in Georgia and Florida.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Peach State Roofing, Inc. exposed workers to fall hazards at Cumberland Mall in Smyrna and a project in downtown Temple Terrace, Florida. The company was also cited for not requiring workers to wear eye protection at both sites.

OSHA cited the company for similar violations on another Florida project in 2008.

"This employer knows what the fall protection requirements are, but continues to expose employees to the risk of serious injury or death," Andre Richards, director of OSHA's Atlanta-West Area Office, said in a statement. "OSHA will not tolerate this blatant disregard for workers' safety."

Peach State Roofing faces upwards of $155,000 in penalities for this latest round of violations.
