Reliance Fall Protection Introduces Tool Lanyard Series

Reliance Fall Protection, a leader in custom fall protection solutions, is pleased to introduce the Reliance Tool Lanyard Series. Lanyards are available in a variety of configurations, and can support tools weighing up to 50 lbs.

Falling object hazards from elevated locations is a serious jobsite safety concern. Reliance recognizes this hazard, and has developed a series of products to assist in jobsite dropped object protection. A 15 lb. tool dropped a distance of 6 ft can generate forces greater than 1000 lbs. when arrested with no energy absorption. To combat this issue, Reliance has developed the Tool Lanyard Series (patent pending), which can limit a fallen tool’s arresting forces to 450 lbs. or less. Tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs can be accommodated with this technology. Lanyards are connected to tools via a spring-clip or anchor ring (see below), and limit arresting forces using elasticized web and/or a shock absorber unit.

Since not all tools and equipment have adequate connection points for lanyard connection, the Reliance Tool Lanyard Series provides several field installable tool/equipment connectors that can withstand the potential forces that heavier dropped tools can generate. Connectors are available in multiple sizes, and installation is quick and easy. Multiple anchor rings can be installed on one tool for added safety, and Reliance’s Patent Pending anchor banding and fasteners are available in bulk quantities for large tool rooms
