A Prince Albert businessperson and his construction company have been fined more than $14,000 for not providing a safe workplace.
Pro Image Roofing and Gutters Ltd. and owner Steven McCreary were charged under occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations after a routine inspection of a construction site on Aug. 19, says a provincial government news release.
"Officers observed workers on the roof of a building without fall protection, hard hats or safety footwear, and using an unsecured ladder to access the roof," said the news release.
In Prince Albert provincial court, McCreary and Pro Image entered guilty pleas on seven charges each. He was fined $2,930 and his company was fined $11,200.
This wasn't the first time that the company was cited under OHS regulations.
In June, Pro Image was fined $5,760 after pleading guilty to 16 charges.
